Day 22

Hello Everyone. Both of us here, as you can see.  And……we’re very, VERY cross. We have been left alone while others have been on holiday. YES. Alone. Not allowed to go out!

Well, not quite alone. Lovely Aunty Alison visited (we haven’t seen her recently as a result of that peculiar virus thing that resulted in kibble rationing) and our dear Aunty Amanda came in and gave us food and stayed with us….. but Leo bit her toes.

I did NOT bite her toes.  Only a little nibble, perhaps. The White Delight, however, who weighs 5.5 kilos, I might add, jumped on her and gave her a fright. What a thing to do!

Anyway, we won’t squabble.  We can tell you we worked very well together on an escape bid.  Do you know, our cat flap was locked with boxes and mats piled high in front of it. What a disgrace! What were they thinking?

We worked every night whilst the house was quiet to move things.  Leo was a bit naughty, he kept calling me the brawn, telling me he was the brains of the plan. But anyway, we did it. We finally broke through at 1 am on the fourth night. 1 am is a great time to be out, you know.  You should try it.  All the little creatures are out and it’s just right for hunting.

While the White Delight was hunting, I (Leo) went in search of little Maud, hoping she might be in the garden.  I didn’t see her until after breakfast when, to my delight, her cheerful little face appeared over the fence and we rubbed noses. We had a little spin around the garden together before she had to go back.

I (Simba)  am very suspicious of that Maud. She’s bewitching him.

Anyway, we had a lovely night and Aunty Amanda was there to let us in in the morning. But she CLOSED UP our escape route!  THAT’S WHY WE’RE CROSS.

Love Leo and Simba x
